We slept with the window open to get a cool breeze and enjoy the morning church bells, just like the last time we were in this same room in this hotel. When we were here before it was March. Now it is May and the city is full of college kids on holiday. We were awakened the first time by a group of revelers at around 2AM. After finally getting back to sleep the second shift came by about 4AM. It may have been the same group just a bit more tipsy and louder. I finally got up and closed the window. Though we are on the 5th floor the sounds carry very well at night so it sounded as if they were yelling right into our window.
We are off to breakfast then to Sainte-Chapelle and Notre Dame. Perhaps we will find a faster Internet connection outside the hotel where we can use Skype to call the family.

Bonjour, ma cherie. I missed talking with you yesterday. I hope we can get through on Skype today! Paris in the springtime ... I envy you.
I LOVE that church! I get chills whenever I see the bell tower and think of all those poor Huguenots who thought they were attending a wedding instead of a slaughter. I also love it because there's a sign to the left of the entrance (in French, so I'll paraphrase) that apologizes for the restoration work done in the 19th century because it was so trendy.
