This is Sainte-Chapelle, built between 1242 and 1248 by Louis IX (who would be known as Saint Louis) as a bejeweled reliquary to house the Crown of Thorns and other holy relics purchased from the emperor of Constantinople.
No matter how many houses of God I see around the world, for me none approach this one in sublime majesty. I just do not have the words to describe its beauty.

I agree 100 and 10 percent. I love this little delight. You were the one who told me not to miss it on my first trip to Paris. I was speechless with awe both times I entered the main cathedral. Thanks for these gorgeous photos!
I'm definitely going to have to check out this beauty the next time I'm in Paris.
